I'm Ruth, the designer and maker behind púca ceramics.
I set up my home studio in Drumcondra in 2020. I’ve always loved making things with my hands, I find working with clay is a wonderfully slow, tactile process. I lean towards geometric, graphic forms. While some pieces are wheel-thrown, most are hand-built. I'm excited for everything the clay still has to teach me.
The name púca, is from the Irish word for a shape-shifting spirit—which felt right to me, given the endless possibilities of the clay!
This is a bit of a side project for me, so I only open the shop when I have a fresh batch ready. Keep an eye on my Instagram for updates.

Sustainability
My creative process is designed to be as low-impact on the planet as possible. I power my kiln with solar energy and am committed to a zero-waste studio practice. All clay is recycled, wheel water is reused, and your order will arrive in thoughtfully repurposed packaging to minimize our environmental footprint.
Shipping
Its a standard 6 euro price for shipping 1x cup within Ireland. 12 euro per piece for EU.
I currently only ship within Ireland and the EU.If you'd like shipping outside of that area, please get in touch before ordering. Due to the weight of ceramics, international shipping is often pricey.
I do boxing and shipping once a week not order by order. If you are concerned about time make sure you get in touch and I will try my best to accommodate. I use standard An Post shipping.
Returns or Refund
I pack every piece with extreme care, but sometimes ceramics still break. If your order arrives damaged, send me a photo and I'll process a full refund.
Because my work is created in very small, unique batches, I don't have spare stock for replacements. The limited nature of these pieces is part of what makes them special, but I know it's disappointing when one breaks. Thank you so much for your understanding.
If your not happy with your piece, you can return it and I will refund you as well as the cost of shipping it back to me.
Materials
I use high-fired stoneware clay and professionally formulated, food-safe glazes.
Stoneware is fired at an intensely high temperature (over 1200∘C). The glaze fuses permanently to the clay, creating a gorgeous, non-porous finish that is completely non-toxic and ready for your kitchen.
